Tracey Martin, Professional Accountant (SA)

Tracey Martin is a practising member of SAIPA and a member of the SAIPA Johannesburg Regional Association Forum. She does consulting work for Rorisa Training as our Senior Associate – Technical. She is a FASSET and SAIPA registered assessor, has a National Diploma in Accounting (Unisa) and is a Pastel Certified Payroll Installer.
 
Tracey is Shirley Olsen’s minority partner in MBS Accounting Services which has an average of 15 full time staff members, around 400 clients and employs an average of five registered SAIPA trainee accountants. Shirley’s practice is able to run independently of her most of the time, because most of the staff report to Tracey.
 
In addition to her management and client liaison skills, Tracey’s technical accounting and taxation expertise includes:
  • Preparation and submission of statutory returns, taxes, audits, annual financial statements and tax returns,
  • All aspects of payroll, SARS e-filing and reconciliations,
  • Preparation of budgets and financial reports for MBS and its clients,
  • Preparation and implementation of financial policies, procedures and systems,
  • Cash and debtors management, electronic banking and credit control,
  • Investigation of, and solutions for, internal control problems,
  • Review of creditors reconciliations and approval of payments,
  • Training of staff and SAIPA trainees in all aspects of the SAIPA learnership: Professional Accountant in Practice,
  • Accreditation and monitoring visits to SAIPA ATC accounting practices and assessment of their trainees,
  • Financial, accounting and taxation advice to clients,
  • Installing Pastel accounting and payroll for clients,
  • Payroll administration and PAYE audits,
  • VAT reconciliations and VAT audits,
  • Asset registers, asset management and depreciation,
  • All tax returns, calculations, objections and audits,
  • Advice to SMME clients on all their statutory duties and compliance issues,
  • Duties of the accounting officer and members in terms of the close corporations act, and
  • Annual financial statements & reports for close corporations, partnerships and sole traders.
