The Big Five Accounting Workshop
Overview
The Big Five Accounting Workshop has been designed for the entrepreneur:
a) struggling to get a handle on their business accounts,
b) interested in purchasing an accounting package to process business transactions but first requires training and guidance in this area, and/or
c) interested in understanding and applying accounting jargon such as assets, expenses, income statements, etc.
This ‘hands-on’ workshop uses practical case studies, simulations and activities to help delegates experience, practice and master the “Big Five” key financial concepts. Delegates will also gain an understanding of financial statements.
Key Financial Concepts
This workshop is aimed at entrepreneurs with little or no financial background. The content is designed to demystify the following “Big Five” key financial concepts:
1. Income
2. Expenses
3. Profits & Equity (Net Worth)
4. Assets
5. Liabilities
The workshop clarifies how the:
Duration & Assessment
The workshop is designed to run over two days. However, Rorisa Training is prepared to customize the training (at client request) to one day or three days in length. As an entrepreneur, we understand that you cannot be away from your business for long periods of time.
Delegates are awarded a FASSET approved Rorisa Training Certificate of Attendance upon successful completion of a short, post-course, individual assignment. In the case where the delegate also completes a Portfolio of Evidence s/he may also be awarded a FASSET Certificate of Competence. The applicable unit standard is US114741 - Finalize and Interpret Accounts (4 credits at NQF Level 4).

- how the double entry principle is used to process financial transactions.
