Shirley Olsen, Professional Accountant (SA)
Shirley Olsen is a joint managing member of Rorisa Training. She is a practising member of the South African Institute of Professional Accountants (SAIPA), as well as a registered FASSET, SAIPA and ICB assessor and moderator.
Shirley started her own accounting practice at the age of 20 and today MBS Accounting Services has an average of 12 full-time staff members, around 400 clients and employs an average of three registered SAIPA trainee accountants. Shirley’s practice runs independently of her most of the time, being managed by her other partner who is also a Professional Accountant (SA).
Shirley and John Blignaut are both passionate about training and established Rorisa Training which is registered as a fully accredited training provider with:
Shirley regularly conducts programs and seminars which equip accountants to run efficient practices and keep abreast in a constantly changing environment. As part of the SAIPA CPD programs in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2012, Shirley presented seminars around South Africa to accountants in the following areas:
Shirley has been a member of SAIPA since 1991 and has served as both secretary and chairperson of the Johannesburg Regional Committee. She currently serves as the Deputy Chair on the SAIPA national board and on these SAIPA committees: marketing, technical (chairperson) and education. In 2009 - 2010 Shirley has been very involved in the SAIPA project to establish a new quality control system for the accreditation and monitoring of SAIPA ATCs and learners and chairs an ATC sub-committee.
For the past six years, Shirley has been closely involved with the FASSET SETA. She has served on the FASSET Board, the Finance Committee and is the past Chairperson of the Quality Assurance and Learnerships Committee. Shirley has been a member of SAIPA since 1991. She has served as both secretary and chairperson of the Johannesburg Regional committee and was then elected to the SAIPA National Board and Exco. She is the current Chairperson of SAIPA.

- The Institute of Certified Bookkeepers as a training provider of all the ICB learnerships and qualifications, and
- SAIPA as an accredited training centre for training its own trainee accountants on the three-year SAIPA Professional Accountant (SA) learnership.
