John Blignaut, Professional Accountant (SA)
John Blignaut is a joint managing member of Rorisa Training. He is a practising member of the South African Institute of Professional Accountants (SAIPA), as well as a FASSET, SAIPA and AAT(SA) registered assessor and moderator. He serves on Fasset’s Quality Assurance and Learnerships Working Committee, SAIPA’s Education Committee and the SAIPA Johannesburg Regional Association Committee. He is a member of the SAIPA sub-committee that designed the new Saipa ATC accreditation & monitoring processes and the trainee logbooks for both SAIPA learnerships. He lectured in financial accounting to part-time CIS students at Wits University from 2007 to 2012.
After working for De Beers and the Anglo American Corporation as a trainer, HR manager, financial manager and business manager, John set up his own SAIPA practice in 1996. His ATC’s first SAIPA trainee, Benjamin Tamba, is now his partner in Definitive Accounting Solutions, their accounting, taxation and business consulting practice. Benjamin was elected to the SAIPA National Board in 2012 and also serves as an associate trainer, assessor and moderator for Rorisa Training.
John and Shirley Olsen are both passionate about training and established Rorisa Training which is registered as a fully accredited training provider with:
John and Shirley were very involved in the project at SAIPA to establish a new quality control system of accreditation and monitoring of SAIPA accredited training centres (ATCs) and trainees in 2009/10. They then conducted seminars around the country to assist ATCs to attain and maintain accreditation status and promote SAIPA learners and learnerships. They are involved again in 2013 in presenting regional seminars for ATCs and learners participating in the two 3-year Professional Accountant (SA) learnerships.
John’s special interest is in designing practical case studies, activities, games and business simulations that enhance the training process and make learning ‘fun’. He has presented a wide variety of training for many corporate and public sector clients in South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia & Lesotho. John continues to consult as an assessor, moderator and national examiner for several professional institutes, business schools and FET colleges. John also enjoys presenting on CPD (continuing professional development) seminars around South Africa.

- The Institute of Certified Bookkeepers as a training provider of all the ICB learnerships and qualifications, and
