Commercial Law Mini-Workshops

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED & TARGET LEARNERS
SAIPA Trainees (preferably with one year's experience in an accounting practice). 

CONTENT
Under the logbook area of Commercial Law, Rorisa Training offers these mini-workshops:


1. Trusts – Formation, Rights & Duties and Accounting & Taxation.  After completing this mini-workshop and the post-course assignment project you will have completed four Commercial Law electives, one Financial Accounting elective and three Taxation electives. Content covered includes:
a) Commercial Law:
  • Rights, Powers & Duties of Trustees
  • Creation & Registration of Trusts
  • Duties of the Accountant of a Trust
  • Reporting Requirements for a Trust
b) Financial Accounting:
  • Annual Financial Statements of a Trust 
c) Taxation:
  • Registration & Deregistration of a Trust at SARS
  • Calculation of the Income Tax of a Trust 
  • Completion of the Annual IT Return of a Trust 

2. Legislation – 
National Credit Act, Consumer Protection Act, Protection of Personal Information Act, FAIS Act, FICA Act and Suretyship. After completing this mini-workshop and the post-course assignment project you will have completed six Commercial Law electives.

3. Non-Profit Organisations – Formation, Rights & Duties and Accounting & Tax. After completing this mini-workshop and the post-course assignment project you will have completed four Commercial Law electives and one Taxation elective.  

FORMAT
Mini-workshops will take place on Saturday mornings for a duration of 4.5 hours. Please visit our 2013 Training Dates page for set dates.
