Accounting and Financial Statements

Picture
Overview
Our Accounting and Financial Statements program will help delegates to:
(a) understand accounting principles/concepts and,
(b) apply these in practice to the drafting of financial statements that comply with key accounting standards and the law.

This ‘hands-on’ program uses practical case studies, simulations and activities allowing delegates to experience, practice and master the drafting and analysis of financial statements for all the common South African legal entities.

Delegates will immediately be able to apply the new skills and techniques they acquire in the workplace.

Delegates & Accreditation
This program is aimed at financial and administration staff as well as small business owners. Delegates require a working knowledge of the bookkeeping process to trial balance. As such, this course is ideal for delegates who have already completed our Bookkeeping to Trial Balance course (or equivalent).

This short skills program is fully accredited by FASSET. Learners will receive a total of 47 NQF credits - 32 at Level 5 and 15 at Level 4.

Duration & Assessment
The program involves:
a) 48 - 60 contact/tuition hours,
b) a 4 hour final assessment (examination),
c) self-study & practical assignments, and
d) workplace related projects (optional).

Ideally the program is run over two to three months in weekly three to six-hour contact sessions. However, this can be adjusted to suit specific client needs.

Delegates are awarded an official SAQA Certificate of Competence by the FASSET SETA upon successful completion of the final assessment (examination) and being declared competent in all six unit standards. Clients also have the option of omitting parts of the program. Then their learners will be assessed and certificated on only some of the unit standards.
